Alex is an Academic Doctor based at University College London (UCL) with a clinical and academic interest in Uro-Oncology and Imaging.
He studied medicine at UCL Medical School (2016-2022), and then undertook his Academic/Specialised Foundation Programme at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (UCL, 2022-2024), with a research focus in Academic Radiology. He has since taken time out of training as an NIHR Doctoral and Clinical Research Training Fellow (UCL/UCLH) to undertake a PhD at UCL (2024+) in the role of AI in prostate cancer detection.
Alex’s research focusses on international, multi-centre, interventional clinical trials with the aim of changing practice and improving patient care. He recently led the PRIME Trial and GLIMPSE Study, and is currently leading on the ARTS (UK) and PARADIGM Trials. He has achieved 46 publications as mainline author, including first authors in JAMA (IF 55), European Urology (IF 25.2) and Radiology (IF 15.2), delivered 77 national and international conference presentations, and has been awarded 50 awards, prizes and grants, including prestigious awards from the NIHR, European Congress of Radiology, European Association of Urology, The Royal Society of Medicine and The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
