Professor of pediatric and reconstructive urology

Anne-Françoise Spinoit works as pediatric and reconstructive urologist in the department of Urology at the Ghent University Hospital, Ghent , Belgium.
She obtained her PhD in medical sciences in 2015 and became in 2018 the first female Professor in Urology in Belgium.
She received her initial medical training in the French speaking part of Belgium (Facultés Universitaires Notre-Dame de la Paix in Namur, and Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels).
She had her training in Urology initially in France and subsequently in the Ghent University Hospital.
Dr Spinoit’s fields of interest are robotics, congenital penile malformations and urogenital reconstruction in children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr Spinoit is Section Editor for the Journal of Pediatric Urology (Innovation and Technology) a reviewer for many urology journals.
She has presented many papers at national and international meetings and has authored and co-authored more than 115 publications in peer-reviewed journals. She is also involved in teaching pediatric urology as a member of the ESPU’s educational committee and as part of the EAU working group in Pediatric Urology (EWPU).
Dr Spinoit has proctored many surgeons/urologists while starting their pediatric robotic program and has organized courses in ORSI since 2015.
