    Sherif Mourad

    Professor of Urology
    Ain Shams University, Egypt

    Sherif Mourad is Professor of Urology at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, subspecialising in neurourology and urogynaecology, and Director of Postgraduate Education and Training. He is also Director of the Obour University Hospital of Ain Shams University. He obtained his MD thesis in a subspecialty of neurourology at McGill University, Montreal, Canada and has a special interest in lower urinary tract symptoms, overactive bladder, female urology and neurostimulation.
    Professor Mourad is currently the General Secretary of the International Continence Society (ICS), and has served on its Board of Trustees as an Executive and Treasurer, as well as on the Educational Committee and ICS Committee for the Developing World. He also served as Chairman of the 38th ICS Meeting in Cairo in 2008. He is Founder and President of the Pan Arab Continence Society and African Fistula and Continence Society, where he is Chairman of the Scientific Committee.
    Professor Mourad is heavily involved in educational activities and conducts surgical and educational missions in Africa helping in the treatment of obstetric fistulae, and training African doctors how to manage the possible complications. He is Director and one of the tutors for the Bristol Urological Institute’s Middle East Urodynamic Course, and is on the taskforce on pelvic floor reconstruction of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
    Professor Mourad serves on the editorial board of Neurourology and Urodynamics, and is a reviewer for the International Urogynecology Journal, Urologia Internationalis, and several regional journals. He has been a guest speaker, chair and moderator at numerous regional and international events and is an active member of many societies, including the American Urological Association, European Association of Urology, Egyptian Urological Association and ICS.
