His main area of interest is robotic surgery. Since February 2009 and has an experience and exposure of more than 2000 robotic urology cases with Intuitive Da Vinci S, Si, X and Xi and Single Port (SP). He also uses Medtronic Hugo RAS.
Prof. Canda served as a ERUS Board member and he is actively involved in robotic urology training. He has been serving as a trainer in many courses organized at RMK AIMES Training Center (Istanbul), ORSI Academy Robotic Surgery Training Center (Belgium) and during many international & national congresses, symposiums and courses including the EAU congresses. He trained the 1st and 2nd fellows on robotic radical prostatectomy procedure in Turkey via cc-ERUS training program.
Prof. Canda is a member of ERUS scientific & education working groups and has co-authored many international publications on robotic urology including ERUS and IRCC (International Robotic Cystectomy Consortium) studies published in international peer-reviewed journals and also has co-authored in various international book chapters on robotic urology.
He is in the editorial board member of European Urology, British Journal of Urology Compass, SIUJ, Robotic Surgery: Research and Reviews, Central European Journal of Urology-Videourology. He is the editor-in-chief of EMJ Urology and associate editor for Frontiers in Surgery.
He has received many awards for the robotic urology studies mostly during ERUS Congresses. He has co-authored more than 160 peer-reviwed publications.
Prof. Canda is a member of ERUS, EAU, AUA (American Association of Urology), SIU (Societe Internationale d’Urologie) and Endourological Society. He is a founding member of SERUS (South East Robotic Urology Surgeons), IURES (International Urologic Research Society) and BAUS (British Association of Urologic Surgeons) International Member. He is a board member of IPF (International Prostate Forum). He has been elected as an active member of Association of Academic European Urologists (AAEC) in 2026.
