Giovanni Lughezzani, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Urology at Humanitas University and senior staff urologist at the Humanitas Clinical and Research Institute in Milan, Italy. He received his medical degree from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2007 and completed his residency in Urology in 2013. During his training, he undertook a research fellowship at the Cancer Prognostics and Health Outcomes Unit, University of Montreal, and a clinical fellowship at the Istituto Nazionale Tumori in Milan.
Dr. Lughezzani’s clinical activity focuses on minimally invasive and robotic surgery for prostate and kidney cancer, as well as advanced diagnostic pathways in uro-oncology. His main research interests include biomarkers, imaging, and novel strategies for early detection and risk stratification of prostate cancer and upper tract urothelial carcinoma. He is an Associate Member of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI) and served as reviewer for the EAU Guidelines on Upper Tract Urothelial Carcinoma in 2015 and 2016. He regularly acts as reviewer for leading urological journals and has received several international awards. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and is an invited speaker at major international urological meetings.
